DETAILS:
*Disney no longer offers Disney Dollars for sale to guests and have ceased production completely - making them a rare park souvenir.*
-The 2001 Disney Dollar series was created to celebrate the opening of California Adventure (and the expansion of the Disneyland Resort) on February 8, 2001.
-The front of this rare 2001 DCA pre-opening/Mickey edition bill features a great, colorful illustration of backpacking Mickey climbing a rock in front of Grizzly Peak. The banner underneath Mickey says "Disney's California Adventure Park." Also on front, bill is signed by Disney Treasurer, Scrooge McDuck and Tinkerbell is featured in simple, black outline near border -
as do all other Disney dollars.
The reverse has the original California Adventure logo featuring Grizzly Peak and a purple banner with "Open 2001" in yellow.
The 2001 DCA pre-opening edition is the only bill in the entire Disney Dollar series to feature the California Adventure logo.
This makes the bill especially desirable to Disney Dollar collectors.
-Disney Dollar comes in a premium display slab currency case.
Case is made from crystal clear, archival quality hard polystyrene plastic,
is acid free and excellent for long term bill storage.

-The very special, limited-run Disney's California Adventure 2016 button was given to Disneyland guests on February 8, 2016 (the 15th anniversary of DCA).
Button was available for one day only and only to Disneyland guests.
This large, commemorative 3" button celebrates 15 years of DCA (Disney's California Adventure) and features Mickey dressed in his Buena Vista street finest in front of silhouettes of California Adventure’s iconic attractions. The featured attractions include: Grizzly Peak, Carthay Circle and Mickey’s Fun Wheel. This particular button is an incredibly rare Disneyland park souvenir.
-Also very special and very limited is "Vol. 5, Issue 2" of California Adventure's own newspaper,
The Buena Vista Bugle
, which includes a small article on the limited-run, 15th anniversary DCA button.
Newspaper was available for only a very short time and only to DCA guests.
This 4-page, "Anniversary Edition 2016" (Disneyland Diamond Celebration/DCA 15th anniversary) newspaper print celebrates 15 years of DCA (Disney's California Adventure) and features articles about the
celebration and opening day. Page 3 features a "Opening Day Trivia" crossword puzzle for testing your DCA opening day knowledge. Also included is an article about the "Frozen" show at the Hyperion Theater and an article about the updating of the Soarin' attraction at DCA.
Condition:
Disney Dollar:
pre-owned, uncirculated. Bill is beautiful and crisp but has a tiny crease or pinch and some rippling at the top-left edge on the Mickey side (see photo #10). To maintain condition, dollar has lived in a deluxe protective bill slab for years. Protective bill slab is pre-owned and has acquired some light shelf wear.
DCA Button:
new, unused. The button looks great overall but has a couple imperfections (looks like scuffs); a result of how Disney stored these buttons before handing them out as this is the condition we received it in (see photo #9).
Buena Vista Bugle Newspaper:
new, unused. This newspaper has been safely stored since receiving so it is in excellent shape.
