    Here is a nice 16th century executioner's iron axe head in good original condition. The iron surface is dark from age with three maker's marks and a pattern near the base of the blade which can be seen in the photos. The maker's marks are small hearts on rings
    . In total measuring 7.5 inches wide and the blade measures 12.6 inches long. Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland from a gentleman's collection. For reference a similar axe head can be seen in the Royal armouries online collection.
