    The Monami 153 has been in production since 1963, and is an iconic design in its native South Korea. It's the best-selling pen there, with sales well into the billions. While the quality has been improved over the years, the design remains unchanged.
    It's a fairly basic retractable pen, but with a slightly unusual mechanism than keeps things super simple. A shaped piece of plastic inside, attached to the push-button, forms a spring, and becomes the retract button when the tip is extended. It also makes the pen less likely to roll off your desk, though the hexagonal shape helps with that too, as well as making the pen more comfortable to hold.
