Medal USSR Veteran of Labor Original Ukraine state award
The medal "Veteran of Labor" is a state award of the USSR.
Established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 18, 1974. The author of the medal project is the artist SA Pomansky.
The medal "Veteran of Labor" was awarded to workers for long-term conscientious work in the national economy, in the field of science, culture, public education, public health services, in state institutions and public organizations, as well as workers, collective farmers and employees, in recognition of their labor merits upon reaching service record , necessary for the appointment of pensions for long service or old age. It was also awarded to those who were underage and worked in factories during the Great Patriotic War.
The medal is worn on the left side of the chest and is located after the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945."
The medal "Veteran of Labor" is made of tombac, silver-plated, has the form of a regular circle with a diameter of 34 mm.
On the front side of the medal on the background of diverging rays there are a convex inscription "USSR", a relief image of the laurel branch, sickle and hammer. In the lower part of the medal along the circumference, the inscription "VETERAN OF LABOR" is placed on the contour image of the tape. The front side of the coin is oxidized.
On the reverse side of the medal on the opaque light background in four lines is a relief inscription "FOR LONG-YEAR GOOD WORK".
The edges of the medal are edged with a shoulder.
The medal with the ear and ring is connected to a pentagonal shoe covered with a silk moire ribbon 24 mm wide with one longitudinal strip of dark gray 7 mm wide, one strip of light gray 8 mm wide and three narrow alternating longitudinal strips of white and red. The edges of the tape are edged with narrow white stripes.
