English Civil War Period Harquebusier’s Armour

A good matching set of English Civil War period Harquebusier’s Armour. The lobster pot helmet of classic form, with a two piece skull. Single piece neck-guard embossed with three simulated lames. Pivoted peak fitted with three bar face guard. Riveted steel cheek guards to either side, showing a line design. The Breastplate is of shot-proof weight in blackened iron, having a musket ball proof mark to the left breast. There are also armourer markings to the right-hand side of the collar, “16” being clearly visible. The backplate is connected to the breastplates by two buff leather shoulder straps secured by original steel clasps and a buff waist belt. Buff leather work are all later replacements, with the possible exception of the waist belt. The whole piece is displayed on a well-made wooden display stand.
