Description
1988 Soviet POSTER *Perestroika Work-Ethic Loafer *Russian Propaganda* FREE SHIPPING*This poster dates from the Perestroika period, when Mikhail Gorbachev attempted to devise a “mixed socialist economy” which allowed some free enterprise. In 1988, when this poster was printed, Gorbachev passed the Law on Cooperatives, which allowed socialist cooperatives to function essentially as private companies. The poster has a background of a work schedule, and an exhortation that under accounting rules, lazy workers will have no money and no honor. The poster is a rare and significant survivor of the year in which the first cracks began to appear in the Soviet system. Condition as shows with significant tears; please examine carefully. This has been stored rolled and will be shipped rolled. The images show weights in the corners for photographic purposes; the corners are square. Measures approximately 26 by 19 inches.
